DOHA: Mowasalat has announced special fares for Karwa taxis and also free feeder buses for metro commuters as Doha Metro Red Line South begins its services on Wednesday, May 8.
Karwa taxis will be offering a flat fare of QR8 for metro commuters within three kilometres. “Karwa taxi passengers travelling to and from any metro station can book their taxi through Karwa App using promo code RAIL to avail a flat QR8 promotional fare for a journey within three kilometres,” Mowasalat said in a tweet.
“Take the first and last mile connect to Doha Metro riding free in comfort and luxury of metrolink feeder buses,” Mowasalat tweeted about its feeder bus service.
Red Line has 18 stations and the services starting tomorrow will cover 13 stations, starting from Al Qassar to Al Wakra.
Three types of travel tickets are available for commuters: Limited Use Travel Cards, Standard Travel Card and Gold Travel Cards. In standard class, a single journey costs two riyals and a Day Pass costs six riyals. A single day pass allows unlimited journeys for six riyals. A single journey in Gold Club will cost six riyals and day pass will cost 30 riyals
The Limited Use Travel Card is a non-reusable, paper travel card that contains either a single journey or day pass. The Standard Travel Card is a reusable plastic travel card that costs 10 riyals. This card must have Travel Credit added to it before you can use it. The Gold Travel Card is a reusable plastic card that costs 100 riyals and is only available from Gold club offices at all Doha Metro stations.
Children aged 4 and below do not need tickets but must be accompanied by a fare paying adult.
