Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has launched the ‘Family Shield-WPS’ takaful product for low-income workers. It is underwritten by Daman Islamic Insurance Company (Beema). The product can also be purchased by a company which wants to give additional protection to employees and is available at QIB’s Industrial Area branch located on Barwa Commercial Avenue.
The plan is designed for workers to provide financial security for their families in case of any unforeseen eventualities. The plan can be purchased by contributing QR10 per month or QR120 per year and provides a cover of QR50,000 for death and QR100,000 in case of death due to accident. “This takaful product is useful and simple as it can be easily purchased instantly over the counter without any medical tests.” said D Anand, QIB General Manager (Personal Banking Group).
