Qatar Charity (QC) has said its office in Pakistan has distributed 8,000 food baskets worth QR1.6m during the last 10 days of Ramadan, benefiting nearly 50,000 people.
This is in addition to the distribution of Eid clothes to 200 orphans sponsored by QC and meeting the Eid requirements of other 180 orphans to give them the joy of celebration, QC said in a statement.
The initiative comes as part of the. ‘Ramadan-the Gift of Giving’ campaign projects implemented by QC in more than 30 countries around the world.
The baskets include basic food items and have been distributed in the provinces of Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with a greater focus on four districts in Punjab due to poverty, unemployment and malnutrition there. Punjab received 5,000 food baskets, while Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa got 3,000 food kits.
