DOHA: Qatar has impressed the world with its astute handling of the blockade and has been able to transform the crisis into an opportunity in a short period, Sweden’s Ambassador to Qatar Ewa Polano has said.
In an interview with a local Arabic newspaper, Polano also said that over the past few years, Qatar has surprised the region and the world, including Sweden, with its impressive diplomacy and with the positive development in its international relations and the achievements of the country in developing trade routes and diversifying its sources of income.
“Qatar has impressed the world with its good handling of the blockade, which, in a short period, has transformed the crisis into a good opportunity, thanks to its impressive diplomacy,” Polano said.
On bilateral relations between Sweden and Qatar, she said the relations are better than ever and political relations are developing well and continuously.
“Let me take this opportunity not only to send my warm greetings on the month of Ramadan to my dear Qatari friends, but also to congratulate Qatar once more on how the Qatari leadership treated the blockade, which looked like a crisis in the first months of the summer of 2017,” Polano said.
