NEW YORK: Qatar and the Republic of South Sudan have signed a joint statement for the establishment of diplomatic relations at the headquarters of Qatar’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York.
Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani signed on behalf of Qatar and Permanent Representative of the Republic of South Sudan to the UN Akuei Bona Malwal signed on behalf of his country.
The two sides affirmed their desire to strengthen and develop friendly relations and cooperation in the political, economic, commercial, and cultural fields, stressing the importance of establishing bilateral relations in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter.
