The foreign merchandise trade balance of Qatar showed a surplus of QR12.8bn in March, a decrease of about QR500m or 4.1 per cent compared to March 2018, and decreased by nearly QR1bn or 7.4 per cent compared to February 2019.
According to preliminary figures released by the Planning and Statistics Authority, the total exports of goods (including exports of goods of domestic origin and re-exports) amounted to around QR22.3bn in March 2019, showing a decrease of 6.3 per cent compared to March 2018 and an increase by 0.4 per cent compared to February 2019. Imports of goods in March 2019 amounted to around QR9.6bn, showing a decrease of 9 per cent over March 2018. On a month (M-o-M) basis, imports rose 13 per cent.
