DOHA: Qatar today recorded 224 new cases of coronavirus and 209 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 119,822, the Ministry of Public Health has said.
The Ministry also announced one new death, of a 50-year-old person. Out of the 224 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, 214 are community cases and 10 from travellers returning from abroad.
Qatar has so far registered 122,917 cases of Covid-19 and there are 2,886 active cases under treatment. So far, 209 people died from the coronavirus in the country.
The Ministry conducted 5,051 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 714,183 tests. There are 36 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking t 405 the total number of patients in hospital.
Three Covid-19 patients were admitted to intensive care, bringing to 59 the total number of cases receiving treatment in intensive care.
The health authorities have urged the public to take all precautions to prevent a second wave of Covid-19 in the country.
