BERLIN: Qatar’s Ambassador to Germany Mohammad Jaham Al Kuwari has released Economic Guide – Qatar in the German language in cooperation with the German Society for the Middle and Near East.

The book was launched as part of a farewell function for Al Kuwari at the end of his tenure as Qatar’s Ambassador to Germany. Al Kuwari said Qatar is pursuing a strategic line in its investments to create permanent and sustainable partnerships with Germany.

On the investment opportunities in the Qatari market, he said the geographical location of Qatar makes it a centre for international trade with the best conditions and services, be it production, transport, and logistics or obtaining safe and secure supplies of energy, as well as financial, digital, logistical and service infrastructure.

Al Kuwari said Qatar is determined to strengthen cooperation with small and medium-sized companies in Germany, underlining the Qatari economy can be an important partner to support them in expanding their commercial businesses inside Germany or entering new markets.

A joint statement of A’ Kuwari and Ambassador-designate Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani was also released on the occasion.

The statement said the free industrial zones established recently in Qatar provide a guarantee of economic growth at a time when the country’s ambitious plans to diversify its economy play a pivotal role in promoting close bilateral economic cooperation with friendly countries such as Germany.

The joint statement also highlighted the richness of the opportunities that investment in Qatar holds for new companies seeking to enter the Qatari market and the ability of conditions Qatar enjoys to enhance existing cooperation with German companies operating there.

Former Qatari Energy Minister H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah said cooperation between Qatar and Germany is not limited to the economic field, but extends to include the political field.

This would include jointly working to promote peace and stability in the Middle East and together take steps to achieve stability in energy prices and combat international terrorism to ensure the security of maritime transport routes and preserve freedom of trade.

He noted the Qatari market has more than 300 German companies in the fields of manufacturing, services, communications, transportation and infrastructure.
