GAZA: Chairman of Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Mohammed Al Emadi said he has held a series of meetings with all parties in the Gaza Strip since his arrival there last week. The meetings were aimed at reaching a truce agreement in the Gaza Strip.
Al Emadi, who is currently visiting Gaza Strip after an absence of about six months due to the coronavirus pandemic, highlighted the seriousness of the current conditions in the Strip and the deterioration of various sectors as a result of the ongoing blockade. He stressed continuous efforts and relentless contacts by Qatar to reach understandings of calm between the parties.
Al Emadi underlined Qatar is keenly seeking to achieve calm that guarantees the empowerment of donor countries and international organisations – at the forefront Qatar – to implement their humanitarian projects in the Gaza Strip without any obstacles, aiming at improving the conditions of people in the Strip.
During his visit, Al Emadi, accompanied by his deputy Khalid Al Hardan, paid inspection tours to a number of Qatari projects in the Strip. These include projects for the establishment of Noura Rashid Al Kaabi Dialysis Centre, Hamad bin Jassim Centre for Integrated Rehabilitation Care in the northern Gaza Strip and Al Amal residential city mosque.
They also inspected work in the warehouses of the Qatari Committee located on the Palestinian side of the Rafah land crossing.
Al Emadi stressed Qatar’s continued support for the people of the Gaza Strip in various aspects of life. He indicated the Qatari Committee continues to provide necessary support to the citizens in quarantine centres in the various governorates of the Strip since the start of the quarantine procedures for returnees to Gaza.
He explained the committee provides daily meals and the basic requirements for all quarantined people, in coordination with the competent government agencies, headed by the ministries of social development and health in Gaza.
