Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of services from Kigali International Airport in Rwanda and would restart its operations on three weekly flights.
The airline said they had “a strong relationship with Rwanda with eight years of operations in Kigali”, having started scheduled services from Kigali in 2012.
“We hope many people will come to Rwanda to explore the world ‘s stunning wildlife and more,” said Bennet Stephens, Qatar Airways Vice-President, Middle East, Africa & Pakistan.
The airline stated that it further enhanced its onboard safety measures for passengers and cabin crew.
Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE) shall be provided to the cabin crew, including gloves, face masks, safety glasses and new protective clothing fitted over their uniforms.
This is in addition to the modified service, which also reduces interaction between passengers and crew on board.
“On-board, all Qatar Airways passengers are now provided with a complimentary protective kit. Inside a zip lock pouch, they will find a single-use surgical face mask, large disposable powder-free gloves and an alcohol-based hand sanitiser gel,” a Qatar Airways statement said.
“The airline has also introduced disposable face shields for adults and children. Passengers travelling from Hamad International Airport (HIA) will receive their face shields at the check-in counters, whereas, at other destinations, the face shields will be distributed at the boarding gates,” they added.
