The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has said it has completed arrangements and procedures in preparation for Eid Al Fitr to ensure the continuity of its services to the public and also to take necessary preventive and traffic security measures to provide citizens, residents and visitors with security and peace.
The General Directorate of Traffic’s Major Jaber Mohamed Odaiba said they will intensify traffic patrols across the country to prevent accidents. He added patrols will increase in front of mosques and streets leading to them in an attempt to control traffic and ensure the safety of families during that time.
He said a comprehensive plan has been prepared for all events taking place in the state. The Central Operations Department is also working round the clock through its 999 service, which helps respond to any problems or emergencies. Director of the Central Operations Department Hassan Al Kuwari said the control room is working 24/7 to monitor areas that have celebrations and to direct patrols, noting the department at the same time provide services to the public that include responding to enquiries and calling hospitals.
