DOHA: An online open house organised by Mindtune Waves Toastmasters turned into a memorial for the late Abdul Qadir Haji, known as Hajika, during four decades of his service for people in Qatar.
Former Indian Ambassador to Qatar, Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, inaugurated the meeting and recalled Hajika in her speech. She said she had learned a lot from people like Hajika during her tenure in Doha.
The meeting also lauded Mohammed Faiz, a teenager from the southern Indian state of Kerala who ‘conquered’ the cyber world with a single message during a show. A cash award of Rs 5,001 and a letter of appreciation were handed over to him at the meeting by V C Fuad, a representative of the club.
More than 250 people attended the meeting. Mind Tuner C A Razak, Latha Anand, Girish Kumar, Baburajan, VC Masood, Rajesh VC, Basheer Hassan, Balkis Nasser, Saritha Mohanan, Abdullah Poyil, Jafar Murichandi, Naufal Murichandi and Sameer P Hasan spoke at the meeting.
