Qatar Astronomical Society expects the first day of Eid Al Fitr will fall on June 5 (Wednesday). Qatar depends on the Eid announcement from the Crescent Moon Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. 

Dr Khaled bin Abdulla Turki Al Subaey, head of the society, said the crescent will be absent in Doha after only three minutes of sunset and the maximum time the moon will remain in the Arab world will be in Rabat (Morocco), where it will be absent after sunset by only 12 minutes.

He added that according to astronomy, June 4 (Tuesday) will be the last day of Ramadan for all countries that require crescent moon sighting and the month of Shawwal will begin on June 5 (Wednesday).
