DOHA: A ‘slight smoke’ was detected at the Mall of Qatar today and immediately extinguished, the Ministry of Interior said in a tweet.
It said the Civil Defence has taken all safety measures after smoke was detected at an electrical substation attached to the mall.
There were no casualties and the immediate response from the Civil Defence averted a disaster.
The Civil Defence had recently won praise for its swift action in containing a fire that broke out at a building in Old Al Ghanim area.
