DOHA: Qatar’s Fahad Badar has entered the history books as the first Arab to reach the Everest and Lhotse peaks during the same journey, in a new achievement added to the series of Qatari achievements in various forums, especially sports.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports commented on the achievement through its official account saying that Badar “is the second Qatari to reach the peak of Everest, and the first Arab to reach the two peaks on the same trip”.
Badar became the first Arab to enter the history books with 30 people who arrived at Everest and Lhotse, (the fourth-highest mountain in the world) within 24 hours. The young Qatari had previously pledged at the start of his unique adventure to raise his country’s flag over the two mountain peaks.
