DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) recently organised an online `Alumni Talk’ event with Dr Faid Khopekar, an alumnus of the school from the 2013-14 batch.
The event commenced with a welcome speech by Principal Asna Nafees who explained the importance of giving back to
society, which is also of the school’s motto, ‘Service Before Self’.
Khopekar talked about his journey from his school years until the present. The discussion touched on the entrance examination for medical courses and the difference between the traditional and modern methods of teaching, among other topics.
He also explained the difference between medical courses in the US, India and the UK; the importance of co-curricular activities as well as teamwork; the different experiences when studying abroad and how to overcome them and various jobs available in the medical sector.
At the end of the session, Khopekar answered questions from students.
“Dr Khopekar’s insights into the field of medicine and various career opportunities present in India and abroad were truly inspirational,” said Nafees.
