DOHA: Doha Metro is making wide-ranging preparations to restart services next month as part of the fourth phase of the lifting of Covid restrictions.
The company is training employees to handle passengers in the wake of Covid, and also in applying precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
Metro is sterilising all surfaces in preparation for the start of services, which would continue once operations resume. Thermal scanners have been installed to check the temperature of passengers.
The authorities said 18,000 posters with instructions for social distancing etc. have been put at various places.
Doha Metro had announced earlier that it would restart services in the fourth phase of the lifting of Covid restrictions. The fourth phase begins on 1 September.
