DOHA: The Maritime Customs Administration foiled an attempt to smuggle in hashish at Ruwais Port.
The contraband was detected using an X-ray machine inside the back of a fruit container. When the container was opened, nine packets of hashish were found, weighing a total of 8.4 kg.
The authorities have been issuing continuous warnings against carrying illegal substances into the country. Customs officers are provided with all means of support, including the latest devices and continuous training to
read the body language of passengers and be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
