DOHA: The Maritime Customs Administration foiled an attempt to smuggle hashish into the country through Ruwais Port.
On Twitter, Qatar Customs posted images and videos of the drug concealed in cans. The cans were hidden inside refrigerated fruit containers. On opening the cans, 26 packets of hashish weighing a total of 26.14 kg was found.
The authority has been issuing continuous warning against carrying illegal substances into the country.
Customs officers are provided with all means of support, including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and to be aware of the latest methods used by smugglers.
