DOHA: CNA-Q Toastmasters Club recently held its 23rd meeting, hosted by Addalin Rajan, the Toastmaster of the Day, with the theme ‘One Simple Idea Can’.

Addalin spoke of how the craziest ideas can be successfully executed if enough thought is given.

The Toastmaster of the Day was supported by Tuba Mustafa, Ahamed Yaseen, Mohsina Ali, and Hazil Mohamed. The meeting featured prepared speeches by Mahnoor Shahid and Saud Duwaisan. Ameen Abdullah, the Table Topic Master, came up with creative topics to test the member’s ability to articulate their thoughts.

The final segment of the meeting was general evaluation where evaluators Zainab and Sidi El Youssy presented the evaluations. The role players gave their reports and Shana Abdurahiman, vice- president Education, provided feedback on the overall conduct of the meeting.

Distinguished club status

CNA-Q Toastmasters is the student-exclusive toastmasters club at the College of North Atlantic – Qatar (CNA-Q). The club chartered in December last year and within five months, achieved distinguished club status.

Club president Mahnoor Shahid said: “We are very proud to provide a safe space for students to practise their leadership, public speaking, nd communication skills. It’s extremely rewarding to watch students tackle these skills and slowly gain confidence throughout their toastmasters’ journey.”

Shahid added: “The skills learned from this club aid both in our personal and professional lives. From making new friends, excelling in interviews, acing presentations to mastering public speaking and communication, our club is proud to offer it all to our students.”

Currently 22-members strong, the club has been meeting online ever since schools and colleges shut down in the beginning of March due to the pandemic
