DOHA: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) on Wednesday announced the commencement of developing 28 km of Al Khor link roads network and converting seven temporary roads into new permanent roads. The project would be completed in 2022.

The development works would provide greater capacity and traffic flow in all directions, Ashghal said..

Seven roads in Wadi Al Banat, Rawdat Al Hamama, Tenbek and Umm Garn areas will be developed along with three in Al Daayen. The new roads would be expanded to two and three lanes in each direction instead of one, increasing vehicle capacity to 8,000 per hour and reducing travel time between these areas.

The roads would be linked to infrastructure services such as drainage, rainwater drainage and potable water networks in addition to telecommunication and electricity networks and street lighting. The new road design also includes green spaces and extended afforestation.

The development works will achieve improved traffic flow in the area as these roads will connect Al Khor Road to adjacent residential areas such as Rawdat Al Hamama, Wadi Al Banat, Al Kheesa, Al Daayen, Umm Garn and Tenbek as well as facilitating access to sports facilities and recreational facilities.
