DOHA: The Health Section of Al Wakra Municipality conducted 949 inspection tours during August at different food outlets. Eight violation reports were issued according to Law No. 8 for 1990 on the regulation of human food control. Five were resolved in reconciliation and the rest referred to the police to take necessary action against the violators.
Veterinarians of the section supervised the slaughtering of 13,404 heads of livestock at Al Wakra Automated Slaughterhouse and destroyed 174 full carcasses, in addition to 3,170 kg of meat, for being unsuitable for human consumption.
