Doha: Buses and metro services will resume at 30 percent capacity on Tuesday, 1 September, as Phase 4 of gradual lifting of COVID-19 curbs on public transit system begins, the Ministry of Transport and Communication (MOTC) has announced.
The working hours of both services will remain the same as before.
The Ministry has also published the guidelines to be followed by the operators and passengers to make the operation smooth and prevent a spread of Covid-19 in the country.
The Ministry said that all employees of the public transport system must be tested for Covid-19 and the supervisors must ensure that all precautionary measures are being followed.
Customers must be encouraged to pre-book tickets online and only those with green status on Ehteraz app and wearing face masks will be allowed entry.
Smoking at entrances of public transit points and eating and drinking inside stations and on public transit system have been banned. Surfaces must be continuously sterilized.
Social distancing posters, footmarks and signs are place on walls, floors and seats.
